Simplicity is the key for designer Simon Porte. His creative mind went beyond boundaries, which as he said in an interview with Dazed and Confused, was crafted for strong women with touch of 90’s. By this he wanted to honor the memory of his mother.
For every designer who on the way of establishing his/her name in fashion world is very important to have an inspiration. In case of Jacquemus, his inspiration was casual looks with longing to be naïve and amateur.
Collection called La Piscine is full of the elements of feminism, but it does not lose the main sense of vintage and smooth linings that emphasize its beauty even more.
In my opinion it’s almost impossible to see the actual collection from Jacquemus and not be satisfied with it, if not feel the urgent craving of having it in your closet. Even though the brand is more or less new for society, it still has the chance to bring the phase of innovation to the tough commercial-built fashion world.
Simon thinks that every time he decides to make the new collection, he takes the risk to make it look as if it is everything and nothing at the same time. The only choice us, the spectators have left is either hate it or love it.
No matter what, the way this Parisian designing house represents modesty, clearly deserves to waste our precious time.
